Xiaomi Pad 5 & Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 5G

The price difference is almost double, but many other special features make each tablet stands out. We are talking about Xiaomi Pad 5 and Xiao mi Pad 5 Pro (5G), the tablets that were released earlier this August. Both models are equally attractive, entertaining, and productive, making them amazing for gaming, small designing, watching movies, and many more. Depending on how you want to use it, there are some specific features that you should focus on.

Xiaomi Pad 5
Price: $396 (128GB), $450 (256GB)

This model comes with a decorous system-on-chip in the form of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860. Along with that, it features 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM that you can choose between 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Its rear camera is 13MP and the front camera is 8MP which are great for taking good-quality photos and videos. The interesting thing about the front camera is that it comes with a sensor that is capable of face unlock. I also like the fact that it supports 33W fast charge via USB-C, making charging easy, fast, and simple. The design of the tablet is sleek and slim, and there are 3 colors available including black, green, and white.

The drawback is that it is a WiFi-only tablet, meaning it does not come with SIM support at all. At the same time, it only supports up to WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 if you want to pair it to other devices. My other gripe is that it does not have a 3.5mm audio jack, but it has a quad-speaker setup. The Dolby Atmos speakers are on the sides of the tablet chassis, providing loud and clear sound quality. It is rather simple, perfect for ordinary use such as social media streaming, taking pictures, watching videos, etc.

Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 5G
Price: $713

As a pro model, this one gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 system-on-chip that delivers fast speed and widespread accessibility. Gamers will find this part interesting because you can use this tablet to smoothly play Genshin Impact and other online games. Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro also features 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, but 8GB RAM is also available if you prefer that. While Mi Pad 5 Pro provides either 128GB and 256GB of storage, the 5G version offers only the choice of 256GB. As for the cameras, this model comes with a 50MP for the rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Mi Pad 5 Pro 5G is equipped with 8 Dolby Atmos speakers, and it lacks a 3.5mm audio jack.

Another difference is that the battery of this tablet is smaller, but it supports 67W fast charging so it charges faster. And, of course, there is a nanoSIM slot along with WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 support. There is one more special feature of the 5G model that Mi Pad 5 and 5 Pro doesn’t have which is GPS. It may come in handy, and it is also nice to get an extra feature. You will only get one color option to choose from in this model which is black.

Identical Specifications

Besides the slight differences, Mi Pad 5 and Pad 5 Pro 5G share some identical specifications such as:

Display

  • 11. inches, WQHD + IPS LCD display
  • IPS LCD, 1B colors, 120Hz, HDR10, Dolby Version

Final Thoughts

You can always purchase on a budget but with high quality when it comes to a tablet for daily use. The great thing about Xiaomi is that it offers reliable products at an affordable and reasonable price. Their tablets are well-built and functional, working just as great as the ones that cost over 1K in price. We definitely recommend these two models, their performance will not let you down.
